POLYVEST® eCO
SMART LIQUID RUBBER SOLUTIONS FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
POLYVEST® is supporting the shift towards the circular economy and bioeconomy by bringing to our customers sustainable solutions under the brand name POLYVEST® eCO.
With our POLYVEST® eCO brand we provide liquid polybutadiene products compliant with the sustainability criteria laid down by the ISCC, a voluntarily certification and a trusted standard.
Our POLYVEST® eCO grades
- do not differ in their physicochemical properties versus standard grades derived from fossil-based raw materials
- can be used use as drop-in replacements by our customers because they do not require any additional tests, requalification, or investment
- bring same well-known performance but reduced carbon emissions.
ISCC PLUS SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATION
POLYVEST® is certified by the ISCC organization to operate under the ISCC PLUS certification scheme based on mass balance approach. This certification ensures the exact and complete traceability of the sustainable materials used in our production plants and confirms that the used raw materials originate from sustainable sources.
The ISCC PLUS certification covers our product portfolio produced with sustainable raw materials that are produced based of different feedstocks.
With the use of sustainable raw materials, greenhouse gas emissions are thus reduced and fossil raw materials are saved.
Mass balance approach - How does that work for POLYVEST® eCO?

MASS BALANCE APPROACH
The mass balance approach allows a gradual conversion from the use of fossil to recycled and/or renewable raw materials.
Fossil and recycled or renewable raw materials are mixed physically in existing infrastructure and processes along the value chain, whereby the respective quantities are recorded and assigned to specific products on a bookkeeping basis.
The actual molecules in the product do not necessarily have to be recycled or renewable, but a certificate from an independent institute confirms the recycled or renewable share.
About ISCC
The International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) is an organization established in 2010 to support the shift towards circular economy and bioeconomy. It has been developed through an open multi-stakeholder process and is governed by an association with more than 120 members, including research institutes and NGO’s.
The ISCC certification system covers all kinds of bio-based feedstocks and renewables catering to energy, food, feed, and chemicals sectors. It incorporates sustainability criteria such as reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, sustainable use of land, protection of natural biospheres and social sustainability.
